Interview

After having successfully passed the first selection step, the candidate is invited to an aptitude assessment interview held in Würzburg or as an interview using video call in June.

The interview consists of:

  • Presentation (10 min) by the candidate about a research project of their own (e.g. Bachelor thesis) or alternatively, of a scientific subject of their choice.
  • Discussion (10 min) about the presentation and a general interview

 

The interview will be evaluated by the following criteria:

  • Presentation: English language skills and rhetoric standards; structure, scope and representation of the content of the talk; quality (controls, standards, statistics) and critical reflection (interpretation) of experiments
  • Discussion: Eagerness to discuss, ability to comprehend questions and phrase meaningful answers, ability to put own work into scientific context; knowledge of current developments in neurosciences, general knowledge, reflection of own scientific career plans.
