Requirements

Subject and credit requirements

Prerequisite for the qualification for the course-related studies "Translational Neuroscience" is the enrollment for the study program Human Medicine at the University of Würzburg during the entire period of the course-related studies. The course-related studies can be started in the fifth semester of medical studies at the earliest.

The applicant needs to submit the certificate of passing the First Section of the Medical Examination in accordance with § 26 Licensing Regulations for Physicians in the version of 27.06.2002 (BGBl I p. 2405) in the currently applicable version with the grade "good".

The submission of above-average performance certificates (at least the grade "good") in the basic science subjects (physics for physicians, chemistry for physicians, biology for physicians) is also demanded.

Language requirements

Proficiency of English language is essential since all courses will be held in English. Proof of English language proficiency at least at C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages needs to be presented at the time of application, for example by:

  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a score of >590 paper-based, or 240 computer-based or 95 internet-based
  • International English Language Test System (IELTS) with a score of at least 6.5
  • Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE)

In addition, basic knowledge in German is expected.
