The MSNZ Würzburg currently supports four independent junior research groups. The main laboratories are located in the Institute for Virology and Immunobiology on the medical campus in Würzburg-Grombühl.
Our research is centered around the communication within the microenvironment and understanding of RNA metabolism in homeostasis and malignancies.
Young scientists in early career phases, i.e. as Postdoctoral Fellow (Medical Scientist) or as Doctor in advanced training (Clinician Scientist), can independently lead projects at the MSNZ. These projects will be developed in workshops with experienced PIs who will guide the young scientists and in whose departments the projects will be located.
The teams of Advanced Clinician and Medial Scientists (research group leaders who are already supported by external third-party funding and who are working on fields relevant to the MSNZ) will collaborate on translational projects using resources from the MSNZ. The projects are of a long-term character and open up new horizons for the participating scientists. In addition, some of the projects develop technological expertise, which will then be available to all researchers of the center.
