First MSNZ Junior Research Group started

11/01/2019

On October 1, 2019, the first Junior Research Group started its work at the MSNZ.

On October 1, 2019, the junior research group of Kaspar Burger started its research activities.

Kaspar studied biology at the Ludwig-Maximilian-University (LMU) of Munich and completed his PhD in genetics in Dirk Eick’s lab, working on the regulation of ribosome biogenesis in mammals. In 2013, Kaspar joined Monika Gullerova as a PostDoc at the University of Oxford, UK to study human nuclear Dicer functions and the regulation of the RNA metabolism in response to DNA damage.

At the Biocenter of the University of Würzburg, Kaspar is investigating the role of Dicer in the regulation of non-coding RNA transcripts and the links between RNA metabolism, innate immunity and genome maintenance in tumorigenesis.
