Systematic Coronary Risk Evaluation (SCORE) is a project from the European society of cardiology. The aim of this project was the development of risk charts to predict the 10-year risk of fatal cardiovascular disease based on the individual’s age, sex, smoking, systolic blood pressure and cholesterol (Conroy et al., 2003). The SCORE risk charts were first calibrated for Germany in the year 2005 (Keil et al., 2005).
Due to decreasing CVD mortality rates in the population as well as changes in CVD risk faqctor levels in the population changes regular updates of risk charts are needed. Therefore we recalibrated the SCORE risk charts for Germany to predict the individual 10-year risk of fatal CVD.
