The Region of Main Franconia

Main Franconia

About 1,160 patients in the region of Main-Franconia are diagnosed with breast cancer per year. Of those about 205 patients suffer from advanced or metastatic disease. The study region Main-Franconia represents a rural area in the northwest of Bavaria with about 1.3 Mio inhabitants. The region is characterised on the one hand by the urban city of Würzburg, and the three urbanised counties of Würzburg, Aschaffenburg and Miltenberg, and on the other hand by two more rural counties of Schweinfurt and Kitzingen and four thinly settled counties of Main-Spessart, Bad Kissingen, Haßberge und Rhön-Grabfeld.
