In 2008 the Bavarian Award for Innovative Research was recommended for the project "Development of MRI compatible pacemaker leads".
In 2003 the Helmholtz Award was granted by the Helmholtz-Fonds e.V. (Physikalisch Technische Bundesanstalt Braunschweig)e.v. and by Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft e.V. for developing highly precise measurement techniques for the measurement of microcirculatory parameters such as intracapillary volume, capillary recruitment and perfusion of heart muscle with MRI.
In 1995 the Oscar Lapp Award was offered by the U.I.Lapp GmbH &co. KG and granted by the German Society of Cardiology for the research topic:
